CULTURAL RESPONSIVE CLASSROOM
Generation TextÂ provides each district with system level planning and a custom design aimed to provide cultural proficiency in the learning environment.Â An interactive staff training model and accompanying teacher directed lessons provide staff with a consistent approach throughout the building or district.Â Participants will gain an understanding of the active role adults play in the culture of the classroom and become proficient in the use of specific tools that will provide evidence of building an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom.Â This model will equip educators and students with 21st Century strategies and techniques to be understanding, accepting, tolerant and respectful of people from all cultures, religions, sexual orientation and gender identification.

Online Resources:Â Generation Text Online provides each school with a comprehensive framework that will allow them to infuse these components into their daily teaching and learning.Â These resources provide videos, learning activities for the classroom, role plays, digital learning, mentor activities and opportunities for parent and community engagement.Â These learning activities reinforce and allow for practice and easy implementation of the language and the strategies presented in the training.
Yearlong Professional Learning and Supports:Â Â In order to support the sustainability of this language, strategies and habits in each school district and community, Generation Text Online provides classroom coaching to assist teachers in how to tweak the framework to fit her specific students in a day to day setting.Â The professional development provides support to the administrators and counselors in order to turn- key this program to other schools in the district.Â The objective of this professional development is to guide each school on how to establish a train the trainer system, providing an opportunity for staff to train new teachers and to take part in service learning.Â This model allows the program to be affordable and sustainable.
